TRAINING
My passion for dance first developed while studying and performing with Santa Cruz Ballet Theater. I supplemented my yearly classical training by attending summer intensives at Ballet West in Salt Lake City, UT and Alonzo King LINES Ballet in San Francisco, CA. My family moved to Portland, Oregon before my junior year of highschool where I trained and performed with Oregon Ballet Theater before graduating.

I received my B.S. in Biochemistry and a Dance Studies minor from California Polytechnic, SLO in 2019. There I joined Orchesis Dance Co. from 2016-2020 as a company member and intern. I performed, choreographed and directed for shows in San Luis Obispo. Throughout college I taught both dance and fitness classes.

Since graduating, I have had the opportunity to continue to diversify my training and artistry through dancing with the American College Dance Association, Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, Interweave Dance Theater, Durante Lambert Mentorship Programs and Shaun Keylock Company.

I am currently training, teaching and performing in Portland, OR.

"There is a deep dancer inside of [her] that shows because [she] takes risks."

- Wade Madsen, Professor of Dance at Cornish College of the Arts
"She executes choreography in a way that is specific, full of momentum and nuanced. Even in a group piece one would have difficulty watching anyone but Maile when she was on stage...she truly embodied all that the choreographer presented to the dancers."
- Matthew Henly, Associate Professor of Dance Education at Columbia University
CHOREOGRAPHY

SEA TO SEE
Premiered Jan 2019
This work was co-created with fellow company member Simone Bernsten as an exploration of eb and flow between 9 artists. This piece of choreography was performed at the annual Orchesis Dance Co. concert "Tabula Rasa."

NOREPINEPHRINE
Premeired June 2019
Norepinephrine is a stress hormone that is released by the brain to increase blood pressure. This piece, that was created alongside company member Erica David, explores the connection of stress between our minds and bodies when we are unconscious of the event.
